Time to get things Rolling!

Welcome back to the Coastal Carolina University Baseball Club! Last year we ended our season National Runners Up in Division II in the NCBA, and this year we look to pick up right where we left off as a strong and classy team. Dates and some information have been discussed and are now available to you.

-Club Recruitment day is Wed Sept 2, 11am-2pm on Prince Lawn. We will have a booth set up for anyone who may have any questions, comments or concerns about the club or if you just want to come say hey.

-A MANDATORY meeting will take place the following night (Sept. 3) at 7pm. Anyone expecting to tryout must be in attendance as there will be very important information introduced. There will also be a sign up sheet passed around at the meeting to ensure your attendance. The venue for the meeting will be the WALL AUDITORIUM, however by Club Recruitment day we WILL know where it is, so please stop by the booth to find out. (We will also post it here on the website as soon as we know) If you have any problems with attending the meeting, please contact Ryan Carlson at least 24 hours prior. Unfortunately, there will be no expections to this rule.

-TRYOUTS (tentatively) will be held on Sept 10 and 11 at the Ripken Experience. Start time is set for 5:00pm both days. Due to the fact that we are unsure of how big of a turnout we will have, don’t ask how long they will last. Although the actual format for the tryout has yet to be determined it will go a little something like this (subject to change). Day one will be fielding fundamentals. We have two fields, twelve bullpens and plenty of time for people to show everything they’ve got. If you want to tryout for more than one position, the amount of space at the complex will make that possible. Day two will be all hitting and base running on both fields. There is a $3 tryout fee per player simply to cover the cost of renting the fields out, it will be collected upon entry and is required to tryout

At this point, that is all we know and all you need to know. Make sure you stop by the booth and spread the word about the meeting and tryouts as there will be no exceptions to the rules. If you have any immediate questions or problems please contact Ryan Carlson at (914) 393-4774, or at ryanonthediamond@aol.com. Thanks for your interest, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
